[The series continued without Reeves and director Pietro Francisci at the helm, in a number of Italian-made B-film sequels and other muscle-man epics - the real 'sword and sandal' films of the era.] By the mid-50s and for the decade afterwards, many of these kinds of epics were typecasting various players, such as Victor Mature, Charlton Heston, Yul Brynner, Richard Burton, Jean Simmons, Peter Ustinov, and Stephen Boyd.
